Victor High School FIRST Robotics Competition
Victor, New York, October 2006 - Applied Mechanical Technologies, Inc. (AMT) announced today that they are proud to be supporting the Victor High School's FIRST Robotics Competition by developing a Product Development Framework for this year's competition. Additionally, AMT is providing guidance and expertise as needed.
The tenth annual FIRST Robotics Competition consists of professionals teaming up to mentor the students in solving engineering design problems. This includes defining requirements, brainstorming, concept selection, and the design and development of the robot. This is the third year Victor High School is participating in the event.
The competition officially kicks off in January 2007 when the students start designing and building their robots. The students will have six weeks to complete their robot for the regional competition against 30+ teams from the Northeast and Canada.
In 2007, this multinational competition is estimated to have over 1,300 teams/ 30,000 high-school-aged participants in 37 regional events
